Card Challenges - PoppyStamps MemoryBox

I have created 2 cards to enter into the Poppy Stamps and Memory Box card challenge.  This is my first attempt at entering a card challenge.  Wish me luck!

Poppy challenge Just Bling It!

UPDATE:
I was too late to enter this card.  I thought the cut off time was PST but it was EST:( it was 9:26 pm PST, 36 minutes too late).  Also I linked the main page address not the adress of the card I posted. Live and learn for next time.
I did get the random draw prize.!!! Can't wait to for my gift card.  So many dies not enough $$$.  I wonder if i can will call my order:)  Not bad for my first successful upload (somewhat successful???)  I recommend using a laptop or computer for this.  Not a smart phone.  I tried to upload through instagram in previous challenges and it would never accept it.  So I created a blog.

For this challenge I made the  Magical Faerie card.    I used the new Poppy Chinese Lanterns with the Patient Faerie.  The patient faerie is sitting on the Mushrooms and Toadstools amongst the Tall Grassy Stems.  Her magic is making the bamboo forest bling.

To create the background the bamboo I used a stencil with crushed olive on the green paper.  I  used the Memory Box Stars Shimmer stencil and mixed the embossing paste with Nuvo glitter gold pen.

For the bling on the purple card stock I used the Nuvo purple glitter pen. I also used the gold glitter pen on the Pointed Rectangle Frame. On top of green card stock.

Memory Box Neutral Challenge

UPDATE:
I did not win this contest either.  At least my link was accurate:)  thanks for all the nice comments from both teams.  I have a technic that will create amazing backgrounds for the water challenge.  I hope to post the video of it soon.  Editing on a smart phone is slow.

It was really hard to come up with a neutral card theme.  I always want to add some color.  Unless I am remaking an Olga card.  She makes the best neutral card scenes every.

I used the new Brilliant Leaf Frame die with various shades of brown. I used the Little Dragonflies with the 2 lightest shades used in the leafs.  I used taupe with the Wild Prairie Stems on the bottom to balance it out.

Fun with Hero Arts Layering Stamps

Below is a collection of  cards I made with Hero Arts layering stamps.  These are so much fun and easy cards to make.

Layering birds and blossom stamps.  I made it into a shaker and used flower soft.  The edges are trimmed with Elizabeth Craft stickers.

Gold fish layering stamps.  I made a shaker with only 1 gold fish inside with the seaweed layered on the inside. The water is stamped with Local King waves 1 static back ground.

My favorite stamp set is the Koi.  I used distress ink and wink of stella for the water...

With this Koi card I stamped the koi with VersaMark on the solid layer then added perfect pearls.  I used a solid bright color paper. Next I stamped the second stamp in just VersaMark.  It takes off some of the perfect pearls.  Finally I stamped a matching ink to the paper for the last layer.  The water is Kuretake watercolor with wink of stella on top for a bit of shine.
This card is a direct replica from one of the Hero Arts designer.  It was so beautiful I had to recreate it. It is so fun to make as the colors come out.  There is a YouTube video on the Hero Arts channel.

Back Yard Potio

As I am enjoying my deck in the back yard I thought about recreating the scene with the Poppystamps Cottage Platform die set.  There are several elements from my back yard but the platform die reminded me of the deck at my family home.  This took several days to create all the elements and add them to the platform.  It's too bulky to be called a card so it will stay on my desk.  It will be a reminder of the summer when the rain starts again in Seattle.

Partly Sunny in Seattle

While visiting the remodel of Pike Place market I had the idea to turn the Poppystamps Urban Skyline die into the Seattle city scape. I hope you like this one.

I tried to make a video but the phone flip the image a few time during filming.  This is my 5th attempt at filming a card video.  Giving up on the video for this card too.  Maybe my next card will turn out good.

After die cutting the skyline I cut out the lower clouds and one of the buildings on the side.  I colored the buildings with silver ink.  For the windows I embossed a purple shimmer sheet with the skyline die and cut around the buildings so it will fit behind the sky line.  I used Impress Seattle skyline die to get just the Space Needle and colored it with the same silver ink.

For the background I used a small mountain die from Waffle Flower Riverside die (I use this die to create masculine cards) and positioned it on a white piece of paper behind the skyline layer.  I used oxide inks to make the back ground.  for the water I .use clear wink of stella glitter brush to color movement in the water.

For the base I used a white A2 size card and glued a dark blue A2 panel on top.  I glued the sky, mountain and water back together.  Then added one layer of foam tape to the skyline die cut and put on top

Lake Sawyer Shaker Card

Day 3 of my card blog.  The video I shot for the Under the Sea Shaker did not turn out well and had to scrap it.  So I started a new nautical shaker card. Below are the pictures and suppliers. I hope I can get the video posted soon.

My latest creation is Lake Sawyer Shaker Card. My grandfather had a house on this lake. This is how I image what it looks like under the water.  The lake is filled with seaweed and fish that would nibble at your toes.

Video

😢 my video file did not save to the phone after a viewed it.   I am still trying to get dome sort of video posted.
Here is what I did to create the card.  All the seaweed, crab, and board is die cut from distressed card stock.  I used a light blue, non textured, card stock to cut out the window for my shaker.  I used distressed ink pens to color the seaweed and fish.  I added clear wink of stella to the fish as well.  The background of the shaker is the light blue shimmer sheetz.  Shimmer sheetz are perfect to add dimension to water cards.  The shaker is filed with Pink Posh droplets.  I used 2 layers of craft foam so the droplets had room to shake.

Under the Sea Shaker Card

This is day 1 of my card blog!
I am loving the sea themed cards.  I bought several of the Memory Box nautical dies and have been creating cards like crazy. Below is my latest Under the Sea shaker card.  I was out at my favorite local crafting store (Impress), and my sister had a wonderful idea of using the 'Family of Fish' die for sequins.  I got the die, and below are the results.
